Centering Equity in Public Higher Education

Dr. Maru Gonzalez, North Carolina State University
August 8, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The work of advancing equity in public higher education is not a box to be checked; it requires intentionality, collaboration, integration, and a proactive and sustained commitment to systemic change. In this informative and interactive session, participants will identify and apply equity-focused, research-based practices to cultivate a culture of belonging and improve the recruitment, retention, and long-term success of under-represented student populations.

Dr. Gonzalez鈥檚 workshop is generously supported by a FY2024 Higher Education Innovation Fund Grant, provided
by the Department of Higher Education.

A New Career Assessment Tool from CAS

NSCC students can now take the through our office. This is not an aptitude or skills test. It鈥檚 simply a way to help understand one鈥檚 personal interests and how those map to specific careers to help figure out a major and create pre- and post graduation plans. This is another tool to add to your student鈥檚 educational planning toolbox to help them understand themself better.

Students can take advantage of this career assessment by stopping by our Center for Alternative Studies & Educational Testing in 天九电子: LS-215 or Danvers: DB-213 or send an email request (athompso13@northshore.edu) to gain access to the Strong career assessment.
